In my youth, I indulged in many a battle!
I, Loki and the Warriors Three often took to celebrating a successful battle with much mead and feasting, as befits warriors of the House of Odin! I had consumed six barrels of mead one evening, and in my earlier years, I was not so … accustomed to it. So, naturally, I was drunk out of my mind!
Volstagg slaps me on the back and proclaims, “My prince, you have had far too much to drink, do you not think?”
“Preposterous,” I slur, “a son of Odin never has too much to drink! Another cup of mead!”
They all laugh at my stupidity and watch as I continue to make a fool of myself, my head spinning from the sweetness of the mead.
I then take Sif by her waist and, in my drunken arrogance, place a kiss on her mouth! She goes red in the face and shoves me with such strength, my body goes careening down the table — shattering everything in its path!
Loki then peels me up off the floor, arm around my shoulder supporting my dead weight. “Brother, perhaps it is time you retire for the evening, hm?”
“Sif,” I say, looking to her — her youthful beauty was unprecedented, she was easily the fairest in all of Asgard — and I allow a smirk to cross my face. “One day, I will teach you not to be so cold!” It still holds true to this day, of course. None compare to her.
“In your wildest fantasies, perhaps!” she exclaims, but then remembers to whom she speaks, looking away as rose tints her cheeks. “… my prince.”
I do not know if she ever forgave me for such a display! Hahaha!
